The bigger constraint here is the ground: the Tuckahoe Wildlife Management Area and other state land carry rules about launching, landing and disturbing wildlife, particularly in nesting season. Spring is good for green marsh and active birdlife, though nesting restrictions limit where we can work. Midsummer brings haze, biting flies and afternoon thunderstorms off the bay. Winter is bleak but graphic, and the low sun angle across the flats can produce striking, minimal footage.
